Gary founded GG Hospitality with his former teammate Ryan Giggs in 2012 (the GG from ‘Gary’ and ‘Giggs’) under the expert guidance of Peter Lim, bringing in some of the most inspiring and visionary figures working in the hospitality industry to build the brand, encompassing an enviable portfolio of world class hotels, restaurants and bars.

“The two of us had travelled the world during our football careers and stayed in some unbelievable places and we were really passionate about creating our own interpretations of what hospitality was and could be, particularly in Manchester,” says Gary.

They have worked with world renowned Chefs like the Michelin-starred Michael O’Hare, three Michelin-starred Tom Kerridge and in 2018, bought on board influential hotelier Winston J Zahra as its chief executive.

“I wanted our projects to be in our name, under our brand, operated in our way, under our control,” Gary adds. “That comes with challenges but you’re in control of your own destiny. That’s important when it’s your name and reputation on the line.”
